Edible Delmarva Earns Delaware Press Association Honors

Edible Delmarva has been honored by the Delaware Press Association with five awards in the 2021 Communications Contest, including three first-place honors for writing and photography.

First Place Awards:
Jay Fleming, Best Photo Essay, Chesapeake Island Life, Summer 2020
Pam George, Best Personality Profile, Feeding the Soul: Bob Yesbek, Summer 2020
Estelle Tracy, Best Personal Essay, Grieving in the Kitchen, Summer 2020

Third Place Awards:
Pam George, Specialty Article, Food, Friends + Family: Grain Craft Bar + Kitchen, Fall 2020
Carole Whitaker, Magazine Editing, Edible Delmarva, Spring 2020

First-place award winners are also entered into the National Federation of Press Women national competition, with national awards announced at their annual conference in July. 

The annual Delaware Press Association Communications Contest, open to all professional communicators in Delaware and nearby out-of-state communities, encourages and rewards excellence in communication. Judged by out-of-state communications professionals to ensure impartiality, the contest provides an opportunity to compete in 12 divsions comprising 61 categories across the full range of print and electronic broadcasting fields. 

Edible Delmarva is a seasonal culinary publication, part of the Edible Communities network, celebrating what we love about the food and drink that defines us as a region and the wonderful ways it brings us together. Published five times a year with gorgeous photography, insightful writing, and amazing and achievable recipes, Edible Delmarva is distributed throughout the region and can be found at restaurants, inns, specialty markets and shops, events, farmer’s markets and more.
