Local beach mixologist Patty Cullen, from Victoria’s at the Boardwalk Plaza Hotel in Rehoboth Beach, shares one of her favorite summer drinks: Sage Berry Gimlet featuring summer berries with savory sage in a libation just right for brunch or an evening soiree.

Ingredients

SERVINGS: 1 Cocktail
  • 2 ounces gin
  • ½ ounce Sage Simple
  • ½ ounce lime juice
  • 1 ounce Mixed Berry Purée

Preparation

For Sage Simple, bring 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water to boil. Reduce to simmer, add handful of sage leaves and simmer for 8-10 mins. Let cool and strain.

For Mixed Berry Purée, blend 1 cup mixed berries (strawberry, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry) until smooth.

Combine ingredients into shaker and shake vigorously, strain into martini glass. Garnish with sage leaf and berry.
